LOOP is a production company based in London. Set up in 2008 by Stan Griffin and Sophie Griffin, LOOP have produced and directed factual, documentaries, drama-doc and short form content. We make high-impact, intelligent and creative films  that are produced for a global audience – whether it’s tackling sensitive subjects or historical events we use our knowledge to research unearthed stories and use groundbreaking techniques to make films that stand out. We pride ourselves on the strong relationships we have with both our contributors and our clients - working with all the major broadcasters in the UK and USA as well as global SVoDs; Netflix, Disney, and NatGeo.

STAN is an award-winning writer, director and producer. A history postgraduate and former journalist, he is a passionate storyteller fascinated by the modern world and its recent past. Drawing on his background in investigative current affairs and fly-on-the wall filming at LWT, he has an impressive track record of compelling, revelatory documentary films.His filmography includes the award- winning Netflix series THE LOST PIRATE KINGDOM (Best VFX Series, 2020 Broadcast Awards, Nominated for Best Direction at the BAFTA Craft Awards). The films feature fully scripted drama set against animated 4K rear projection, to tell the true story of the eighteenth-century pirates of the Caribbean. Other significant achievements include series directing the landmark 6 x 60, HITLER: THE RISE AND FALL for AHC/More4, which received multiple documentary Emmy nominations and the critically acclaimed blue chip BBC series ALAN WHICKER’S JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME.Stan’s search for stories has taken him all over the world, including directing big budget series for Discovery (MYSTERIES OF THE MISSING and two seasons of THE UNEXPLAINED FILES). His love of history means a special interest in true events, with archive-led films a specialty, most notably mini-series ATTACK ON PEARL HARBOUR: MINUTE BY MINUTE for Five/Nat Geo and WORLD WAR TWO IN COLOUR: ROAD TO VICTORY for Netflix.He has extensive experience directing drama for documentaries including the use of both large-scale Special and Visual Effects – seen to great effect in two seasons of Nat Geo’s long-runner SECONDS FROM DISASTER. His drama-doc catalogue includes a recent episode of the iconic BANGED UP ABROAD, the headline-making AUTOPSY: THE LAST HOURS OF MARILYN MONROE for Five and FINAL 24: SID VICIOUS the tragic story of punk icon Sid Vicious's life and death. He’s also written and directed true crime films for prime time ITV1, most notably KILLERS ON CAMERA as well as Discovery ID docs, FATAL AFFAIRS and WEB OF LIES.Stan also boasts the feature doc, HOLLYWOOD AUTOPSY: MOVIELAND CUT OPEN for Sky, interviewing some of Hollywood’s biggest names. He has worked with a diverse range of talent, including Dermot O’Leary, Derek Jacobi and Guardian restaurant-critic Grace Dent, who he recently filmed and directed for her look at the rise of the Greggs bakery empire, INSIDE GREGGS: 24/7 (Five/Netflix).Most recently, Stan has written and series directed KILLING HITLER, a 3-parter for Nat Geo, detailing the attempts on Hitler’s life from his rise to political prominence to his eventual suicide. He has credits for all major UK broadcasters and much recent success working for US networks and streamers (Netflix, Discovery, Nat Geo, Disney Smithsonian). Additionally, Stan has directed a number of successful commercials for high end brands, including O2, Skoda and adidas.

SOPHIE is an all-round creative producer who has worked for some of the UK’s leading media companies, notably Conde Nast and The Discovery Channel. She oversees LOOPs SHORT-FORM, BRANDED CONTENT, and more. Sophie produces, directs, shoots and edits and has won an award for her documentary short ‘THE FERRYMAN’, a film about the last running ferry on the River Thames. Sophie is also a training artist with a multifaceted practice that includes installation and film, which she exhibits across London.
